Your photo, in short
When you upload a photo, it is sent directly to a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes the request to an underlying model provider) so it can be analyzed. On our side the photo is processed in memory only: we do not write it to our servers, our database or our logs, and once your result is returned we hold no copy of it.
We want to be precise about the part we do not control. The AI provider that analyzes the photo may retain it for a short period for abuse monitoring under its own policy, typically around 30 days, before deleting it. It is not used to train any model. If you would rather not have a photo of your body handled that way, please do not upload one - the scan is the only part of this service that needs it.
What we do store
We keep the derived results of your scan, not the photo itself: your estimated body fat range, classification, confidence score, and the written summary and observations the analysis produced. We also store your quiz answers in aggregate form, anonymous event timestamps (such as when you started or finished the scan), UTM and gclid campaign parameters from the link you arrived on, and an email address if you choose to leave one with us.
Cookies
We use a first-party cookie to keep your session and your pricing variant consistent as you move through the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, beyond Google Ads conversion measurement, which helps us understand whether our ads are working.
Third-party processors
Your photo is processed by OpenRouter and the underlying AI model it routes to, as described above. We may also use standard infrastructure providers to host this site and store the data listed above. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Retention
Your photo is never retained. Scan results, quiz answers, and event data are kept for as long as we are running this test so we can evaluate it. If you leave an email and we decide not to launch this product, we will let you know and delete your email.
Your rights (California residents / CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you can request a copy of the data we hold about you or ask us to delete it. Email us at hello@scanbodyfat.com and we will handle your request.
Age
This service is intended for adults aged 18 and over in the United States. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used this service, contact us and we will remove the data.
